The transportation in Istanbul Bridges

When we talk on transportation the traffic is undetachable part of the talk, for sure. Istanbul is a big city, a metropol actually, that is why we have lots of traffic. I mean really lots of traffic. If you do not know how, when and where to travel then you may spent most of your stay in traffic. Istanbul is cut in two parts by bosphorus, Anatolian and European. When we say cut that means bridges; bridges mean trouble. And it is exactly like this in Istanbul. We have two bridges and we call them simply first and the second bridge. The first bridge passes through Besiktas to Beylerbeyi. This bridge is the worst one to pass almost every hour of the day. Especially between 08:00 -11:00 and 17:30-23:00 it can turno ut to be a nightmare. That is why you had better leave it tol ocak sufferers and do not waste you vacation. The second bridge passes throgh Levent and ………………….. and easy to use all the time accept the rush hours. The rush hours fort he second bridge is between 08:00-10:30 and 18:00 to 22:00.
Another very important information. If you are planning to rent a car and use it between two sides you have to go to Ziraat Bankası or Shell Gas Station to buy a smart card or you have to ask the reantal company if the car has one digital pass. Because you can not pass by cash ticket anymore from any of the bridges. You have to have smart card or digital pass (for locals only) to drive through the bridges. Passing from the European side to the Asian side is free but you have to pay while you are coming back. If you do not have a pass card it will not be very nice neither for you nor the cars behind you. Do not forget it is usual to use horns in Turkey and it can turn a huge smphony of chaos.
Both bridges are not allowed for pedestrian pass. If you would like to have a bosphorus view I recommend boat trips.
